The managers in the country's administrative remedy remain held by men

Land of Women: Press release from 02/09/2010
The Equal Opportunities Act threatens to scheitern. In the boardrooms of the country's ministries, there are fewer and fewer women, although the legal requirements are different. "Since 2005 is to ensure the country's Equal Rights Act to ensure that women will pave the way to the top echelons of state administration. The ministries were asked in this particular role models. But still the women come up against the glass ceiling, "criticized the first President of the National Council of Women (SAR), Angela Bell. The answer to a cross-party parliamentary inquiry recently brought light into darkness and is alarming for the country's Women (LFR), the voice of more than two million women organized in associations in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Will this promotion practices are maintained, bell, the proportion of women amounts to the ministries in the near future on the first management level (A 16) only 20% and the higher levels (B3 and B6) only 10%.
The results show that during the years 2005 to 2008 carried an average of 2.3 times in all ministries, more men than women in Grade A15. and 4.5 times more men than women transported to A15 - The Environment Ministry and the Interior Ministry were even 5.5. At 3.5 times more men than women in the carriage of the first management level A16 (for example, Head of Section) the disadvantage of women likewise clear. In the next higher management level B3 were transported even 7.1 times more men than women. Particularly high was the proportion of transported men in the Interior Ministry, here were 24 men and one woman transported to B3. Ministry of the Environment were exclusively transported men and at the Department of Food and Rural Affairs were 8 times more men than women transported. In the management of all ten ministries B6 total of 6 times more men were transported.
at the lack of qualification of women, it is not. Looking at the trends between 2005 and 2008, is for the grade A15, the increase for women was actually slightly higher than for men. When carried in the leadership positions A16 and B3, however, more men were promoted, ie the situation for women has tended to deteriorate. Also for the promotion to A16 can not talk about improved promotion prospects of women.
shows no effect for Angela Bell, the Equal Opportunities Act and elsewhere: "It is amazing that in the studied four years in the ministries were only ten cases of complaints to the Office of Equal Opportunity. According to § 22 of the Equal Opportunities Act because women can manifest before Discrimination are protected - if that instrument is used '
The best degrees will be stored for more than 50% of women in the provincial administration, however, women are to be found in only 15% of management positions.. Here
Angela Bell's future prime minister Mappus sees on the train: "Especially in times of crisis it is critical to the performance of an administration, whether gender balance exists. In the recent economic crisis is considered by scientists the uniformity of male leadership bodies even as a path to disaster. Recent studies on mixed management teams in Europe Groups show that more women are equivalent to the company's lead with more economic success and stability.
high time that the rethinking and administration according to the existing potential of the women falls back. "
The LFR, therefore, urges a more objective selection procedures, specific targets to significantly increase the proportion of women in leadership positions as well as regular reporting requirements. to achieve

Genital mutilation is one of the gravest human rights violations against women and girls. 4,000 girls in Germany are vulnerable to this cruel practice, affected an estimated 20,000 women from NGOs. The mutilation of the external genitalia of girls and women is a human rights violation
suffer the consequences of the women throughout their lives. The risk of genital mutilation, women and girls need therefore to our attention and support. This is especially for educators, teachers, doctors, police officers and staff of counseling centers, youth agencies and immigration authorities. The theme must be incorporated in the curricula and curricula of the relevant professions, for genital mutilation must be known as a problem. It is also necessary, a sufficient number of shelters for the risk of genital mutilation of women and girls.
the FDP parliamentary group has regularly spoken out against the practice of genital mutilation and preventive measures required. The German Parliament has recognized the problem early and responding. By suspending the limitation period until the coming of age in cases of maltreatment, is a law enforcement by 28 Age of those affected possible. The statute of limitations protects the perpetrators no longer. A legal action against female genital mutilation with a specific criminal offense could be an important signal and show that the suffering of women and girls are accepted no longer. The explicit mention in the law would act as a deterrent.

Finally back ... Merry Christmas

The first post in the new year, now finally agrees with the title of Kiwitour2010.
A month ago, that we are in high summer temperatures, Christmas and New Year's Eve party "could". The last few days without a job, outlaw without much obligations and the last cent of our savings from the Port Monae (I think that you write now) disappeared. By ... Everything happened very quickly. After a Vorstellungsgespraech already began for me on Dec 22, again the seriousness of life. The Huntley House (5 Stars) I got a super job as Front of House Manager whatever?. I take care of the check-in of guests, they serve both the Breakfast and at dinner and care for the physical well at all other occasions. I do a lot of fun, finally a useful purpose, at least until the end of May 2010. Because we have only our flight on the 11th June moved back over this time we turn on the Tokyo to Frankfurt. We were busy learning Japanese, haha ...!
the way, Marco has found a job at a great restaurant, but he told himself better what he is doing can do.
The next few months we will find the "many" work time and hopefully now again have enough money to travel the South Island. Indeed, we have some targets on the map, which we are bound to meet even before we leave again.
I wish all our readers continue a great winter with much snow. Makes a lot of pictures, because so often we experience the yes and no longer in those days.
Greetings from ChCh.
