Once again a sunny day and we were free. Optimal conditions for Marcos 29th + 1. Birthday, so it was time again for a day trip. Akaroa, the French former whaling village on the edge of the Banks Peninsula had to be "checked off" on our list of Must Do's.
whale and dolphin sightings attract hordes of tourists and we tried our luck. We decided because of good weather for a kayak tour along the coastal line. With a lunch box and two armed Kieselseteinen it went out into the bay. After a while we started the pebbles to hit each other. listens to underwater then as the clicking sounds of the dolphins on. Click clack click clack and besides a delicious lunch. French bread with sour cream, tomatoes with sea salt and Bierstix, one of whom went on it as bait for the sea creatures. A can of mackerel or tuna would have been probably better, at least we had no success with our strategy. Only the motor boats of other organizers went back and forth and were apparently some porpoises across the bow, for us, unfortunately, beyond reach.
Well, we had at that time had on our Seegeltrip luck, so we were not soooooo sad. For our Taint was the day anyway perfect and the rowing good for our fitness. And so we went back to port. Click clack click clack.
