Review:
"soul night" is the second part of the Dark Forces trilogy, and ends where its predecessor leaves off.
Chloe is in the custody of the Edison Group and met with the reasons for their imprisonment.
are all victims of a failed experiment in paranormal and Chloe slowly realizes that the organization is anything but innocent and decides to flee.
But first make a couple of monstrous incantations by Chloe for plenty of thrills and tension. Where the author again their full range of visual description shows and scored really shattering results in the reader.
much should be said in any case: who is doing experiments with the paranormal, need some source of power in order to accomplish this can at all, and that we meet here in part. But only in fragments, as Chloe decided to avoid contact with it, because even she is afraid of it.
for plenty of excitement and mystery are again provided, but what I liked most of this time, all the twists in this book. Chloe realizes that she has deceived many people, both friends and enemies, and it remains nothing more than to flee.
Your goal, Simon and Derek can be found, even if in a daring and rapid Hunting degenerates. For the Edison Group would stop at nothing to cover up just to their machinations.
the end find the friends together, however, and fall back on old goals: see Simons and Derek's father. From him they hope to help, but this should not happen.
For both Chloe, and Derek's forces seem completely out of control.
This is something I really appreciate about this book. The characters get into a crisis of self-discovery and must learn to both grow up, as well as cope with their special powers. However
is not developed, the little romance between Simon and Chloe on, but Chloe and Derek this time get a chance to show what they can for a dream team they really are.
you help each other to explore the dangerous side of their forces and to control this. Especially Derek shows from here and a moment of weakness and the reader is witness to how he views his nice side brings to the fore.
I find this really great because it shows what a versatile character he really. On the one hand, surly and protective, but on the other hand, a loving friend, who also plays a weak moment. To promote
their relationship a little separates the author Chloe and Derek from the rest of the group and lets them alone for a while continue their flight.
encounter case, the two other paranormal, which behave anything but well disposed towards them.
is here for Derek for the first time the question of who he wants to be and whether he is for the man or the werewolf in the decision. I love the easy, especially because it no longer makes Derek look so obnoxious, but much more human.
Although the second half of the book which is hardly characteristic of the gooseflesh moments, it makes the story not worse, because here was clearly more focused on the development of the characters and their relationships.
My only criticism is the translation of a certain word. YEAH. It just does not fit into German and the dialogue can sometimes appear very strange. In view of what the book has to offer otherwise, but this is a very tiny flaw that seriously hampers the reading fun does not.
Conclusion:
Like its predecessor, the second part of the Dark Forces trilogy, written in a lively and rapidly. This time we'll get less with puzzles, but more to do with character-driven developments, which have succeeded very well indeed. We learn more about the size of the Edison Group experiment and its impact on the concerned paranormal, which is really shocking part.
Everything has changed for the characters and you realize that it's getting serious for the heroes. I can not wait to read the ending of what a spectacular showdown, the story is, because one thing is sure: if Chloe and her friends develop their skills and continue to work on their power, then the Edison Group should have a couple of new weapons and invent defenses.
The second volume of the trilogy has just confirmed that this series really has the ultimate addictive and literally sets the standard.
Many thanks for the review copy goes to
